EduTech ("we," "us," or "our") is a lesson planning and curriculum management platform built for teachers and homeschool families. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. By creating an account or using our services, you agree to the practices described here.
Information We Collect
Account information
When you register, we collect your email address, a password (stored in encrypted form), and optional profile details such as your name, the grades and subjects you teach, and your school calendar dates. These details help us tailor lesson plans and curriculum features to your classroom.
Lesson plans and curriculum content
The lesson plans, curriculum maps, standards, weekly agendas, student rosters (first names and grade levels for homeschool families), and uploaded resource files you create are stored in our database so you can access and manage them. Uploaded teacher manuals and workbook files are used only to help generate your lesson content.
Payment information
Payments are processed securely through Stripe. We do not store your credit card number or full payment details on our servers. Stripe handles all sensitive payment data in compliance with PCI DSS standards. We retain only your subscription tier, billing cycle, and Stripe customer reference to manage your plan.
Usage data
We track how many lessons you create each month to manage your plan's usage limits. We may also collect basic analytics such as which features you use and approximate device information to improve the platform.
How We Use Your Information
- To provide and maintain your lesson plans, curriculum maps, and related features
- To generate AI-powered lesson content, subject deep-dives, and curriculum suggestions based on your inputs
- To manage your subscription, process payments through Stripe, and send billing-related notices
- To send onboarding emails, feature highlights, and occasional promotional offers (you can opt out anytime)
- To improve our services, fix issues, and develop new features
AI-Powered Features
EduTech uses AI models to generate lesson plans, curriculum maps, subject content documents, and weekly agendas based on the information you provide (subject, grade level, standards, resources, etc.). Your lesson content is not used to train public AI models. The AI generates suggestions and drafts — you remain in full control of what you save, edit, and share.
Sharing & Third-Party Services
We do not sell your personal information. We share data only as necessary to operate the platform:
- Stripe — processes all payments securely. Their privacy policy applies to payment data.
- AI providers — process your prompts to generate lesson content but do not retain your data for training.
- Email delivery — used to send onboarding emails, feature highlights, and account notices.
- Group plan owners — if you are part of a school or team subscription, the plan owner can see your email and seat assignment.
Data Security
We protect your data with industry-standard security measures. Your lesson plans and personal data are isolated to your account — other users cannot access your plans unless you explicitly share them. Payment processing is handled entirely by Stripe, which is certified to PCI DSS Level 1. Passwords are never stored in plain text. While we work hard to protect your information, no system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Your Rights & Choices
- Access & export: You can view and export your lesson plans and data at any time through the platform.
- Delete your data: You can delete individual lesson plans, curriculum maps, and resources. You can also request full account deletion.
- Email preferences: You can opt out of promotional emails at any time using the unsubscribe link in any email.
- Cancel anytime: You can cancel your subscription at any time. Your data remains accessible until deletion.
- GDPR & CCPA: If you are in the EU/EEA or California, you have rights to access, correct, or delete your personal data, and to request data portability.
Children's Privacy
EduTech is designed for educators and homeschooling parents. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you are a homeschool parent, any student names you enter (first name and grade level only) are stored solely for your own organizational use and are never shared, marketed to, or used for any purpose beyond your account. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we'll revise the "Last updated" date at the top. If we make material changes, we'll notify you by email or through the platform.
